900 Series / Pertot - BlackOrganic Mold Rubber
|
The Contenti Company offers a range of organic mold compounds to suit every application of centrifugal rubber mold casting using tin and lead alloys. Every organic rubber mold set consists of two 1/2" thick sections, and each section has 10 laminations. The term "durometer" used in the specification tables below refers to the relative hardness of a rubber compound when cured. The higher the durometer, the harder the rubber compound is. Variations in heat resistance from compound to compound are not significant. Our acquisition of the Frank Pertot Company in 2000 has added two exclusive formulations to our selection: The 900 series (formerly NS) and the YOA compound. Manufactured from an exclusive formula developed by the Frank Pertot Company, the 900 series compound is the highest quality organic mold rubber available anywhere. Each disc is fabricated by employing a unique "cross-laminating" process whereby each ply is layered in a different orientation than the previous ply. This laminating process results in a mold compound with the highest dimensional stability and the most uniform shrinkage. Parts are rendered with little or no die parting lines, while the mold set retains maximum flexibility and tear strength because of its relative softness. All these physical properties make the Pertot 900 series the most versatile mold compound, suitable for producing tiny, highly detailed parts as well as larger, highly modulated sculptured pieces. - Durometer: 59
- Flexibility: Highest
- Tear resistance: Highest
