650 Low Fire ClayArt Clay Silver |
As with every Art Clay Silver product, 650 Low Fire Clay has the same post-firing silver content of 99.9% fine silver. The biggest difference between Art Clay 650 and standard silver clay is its lower firing temperature. Typical firing is done at 1200°F (650°C) for approximately 30 minutes. Higher temperatures can be used for shorter periods. The lower temperature allows 650 clay to be fired with sterling silver, glass, and sensitive gemstones such as hematite, moonstone, and obsidian. Reduced shrinkage of 8-9% is an additional benefit of 650 Low Fire Clay over standard silver clay. Low Fire Clay is available in 4 different sizes. Each is packaged in a resealable mylar pouch to retain moisture and ensure long life. Can be fired in one of our Paragon Kilns, with our Blazer Micro Torch or on a gas stovetop.
